I am fairly visual and enjoy visual stimulation, particularly movies (generally I don't care for live acts, altho I don't know why). But, of course, nothing tops your work! About Black Lace? Some of my favorites are by Emma Holly and Lisette Allen. Very erotic tales, both modern and ancient. Some are available through amazon.com and some through the Venus bookclub. I've shared them with some friends who have enjoyed them as much as I. There's the X Libris series as well, but those are a bit more difficult to find in this country. Both publishing houses are out of the UK. The Venus bookclub is worth a mention as they have some noteworthy titles in hardcover.

[F 36] A friend of mine recently loaned me a romance novel that really got me juices going. (I read technical stuff all day at work and find the mind candy that romance novels offer a pleasant relief.) It was called "The Love Slave" by Bertrice Small. It is about this young woman who is captured by Vikings and ends up training to be a Love Slave. The book goes into detail about her training and her life with her different masters. This is not your run-of-the-mill, mind candy romance novel. This book kept me up may of night wishing my husband didn't work mid-shift.

Updated 10/3/00 [?] I like to read quality porn, and have a difficult time finding good material. My tastes run in the direction of wanton women that aren't shy about making their wants and needs known, and their aggressive ways of seeking and achieving their objectives.
The best novel I've encountered is titled "Point of View" by Martine Glowinski and published by Masquerade Books. This tome is built around an absolutely debauched exhibitionist who is willing to try anything. The exhibitionist nature is central to the book, and overall this book represents the best, in my opinion.
I had hoped for more by this author, but seem to have read somewhere that she is either deceased, or no longer writing.
I also enjoy reading depictions of anal penetrations, and look for books describing simultaneous d.p., but haven't found very much that I would recommend in that vein.
PS speaking of good (even great) books, "Confessions of a Part-Time Call Girl" by Barbara Ignoto, is the very best! It's major flaw is that it is so brief, only 148 pages, but she tells all. I'm prepared to either believe it's true or not, but it doesn't detract from my enjoyment either way. Actually, I suppose I enjoy it more believing that it is an accurate depiction of her experiences, but it is a great book either way, and I heartily recommend it.

The very first sex scene is incredibly hot. The movie is quite long, a couple could watch it in parts and get 2 or 3 viewings out of a single showing. The costumes and scenery are great. There was an article recently in a magazine in which a poll of women reveals the sexiest general-release movies of recent years. Here are the top five - Bull Durham, Thelma and Louise, The Big Easy, Jerry maguire and The Last of the Mohicans.
And the worst? The Bridges of Madison County, The Mirror has Two Faces, Showgirls, Green Card and Sommersby.
Remember these aren't my opinions. What are your picks?

Posted 7/7/98 [M] Hi Joan___I a saw a tape last night that other couples might want to see. It has several sex scenes that are quite arousing. The first 2 are a little wild but go on to several more good scenes, the last scene shows Eric Shaeffer with her mouth on his shorts & takes his penis in her mouth. It also has a good theme that goes on & ends in a unusal way.

Spring 98 [M] About movies...I think your readers (and you, if you hven't seen them) would enjoy the three movies by Deborah Shames. They are "Cabin Fever", "The Hottest Bid" and "The Voyeur". All three have plots, good music, great photography and good sex. These are not hard-core films, not a single cum shot in the bunch! "Cabin Fever" is our favorite.
A note - If I remember correctly, these films are produced (or something) by Lonnie Barbach, the relationship writer, and if her films are anything like her books, they should be wonderful.

[M]You had asked me to let you know if I find a video that is worth viewing. The other night I saw "Secrets of a Chambermaid" on the Playboy channel. It may repeated this month. It was rather good, with a story line, obviously directed by a woman, using classical musical for background music (I certainly prefer this to the mindless beat) and different angles... You may want to see it.

[F]I know just how this woman feels,,,,and always look for more tasteful (no pun intended - lol!) films that are senstive to women's needs myself. Try the GoodVibes web site ---- "www.goodvibes.com". They have a whole library of films that are categorized and rated as well.

[F]In reality I find most XXX video plots thin at best. Certainly thinner than the humongous phalli they feature. I have found the following have plot, or purpose, more substantial than most.
More recent stuff with Nina Hartley:
***Nina Hartley is clearly no ditz, and she has obviously studied acting. She not only decorates her videos with her extraordinary body, but with her abilities as an excellent performer. To wit, she seems to really enjoy what she is doing and care that her partner does as well. She DOES often of make her fellow actors appear like automatons, but, for me, her own charisma makes up for that. She has made some stunning and useful "how to" videos on fellatio, cunnilingus, and anal inercourse; her terms not mine. They are anatomically correct and erotically sound from my point of view. A favorite "story-line" video for me stars Nina Harley in "Romeo and Juliet 1" (I don't know if there was a 2), a Western Visuals Video. It includes solid hardcore action, including visible cum shots, a reasonable storyline, and great bodies. Realize that some of those bodies are no-brainers.
***John Leslie's "Curse of the Catwoman" has great bodies, excellent camera work and angles, great bodies, a semblance of brains, and a reasonable storyline/plot.
***"Chameleons, Not the Sequel," (was there a sequel) is excellent. It stars Ashley Gere, Deidre Holland and the same wonderfully hung swede from "Catwoman" who seems to be erectile on demand at any time.
Now please realize that these seem made for a dominantly male market and feature what is curiously a male demand for huge cocks and visible cums. Female friends of mine have enjoyed them, although one was put off somewhat by the amazing beauty of the females. I lay that to the same feelings of inadequacy I get watching huge, constantly erect males!

[F]Here are a few additions to some of the better erotic videos that we have found out in the world. I also want to suggest that she get a hold of the ***"Wise Woman's Guide to Erotic Videos" if she wants more information on female/couple-friendly videos. While they don't list everything, it's a great place to start.
Here's our list:
***Nothing to Hide 2 (Justine)-you have it in your list, but I think it deserves to be highlighted. It is the absolute bestseller here in our store, and one of the few videos people say they enjoy watching more than once (high praise indeed!). Good acting, great sex, and...a plot!
***Bobby Sox-another great story with good acting, and a rare female dominance scene that rings true in its depiction. It also features a down-and-out Jamie Gillis (try watching this after watching Misty Beethoven) who can't even get it up. A groundbreaker, with good sex to boot.
***Borderline-Women love this one, and men get a bit nervous at the depiction of the male protagonist. More good acting, and some very hot sex (including one of the best girl-girl scenes I've seen in a long time) and the woman gets everything she wants.
***1001 Erotic Nights-I always knew that Scheherazade was a wily one, but this story proves it. She weaves her life-saving erotic tales night after night, and we get to see the stories come to life. A gentler video than some, that is excellent for those new to videos, as well as those wanting more slow arousal.
***The Comix-What happens when your (very strong)female comic strip character comes to life to avenge herself? This one has Janine doing her hot woman-only seductions, and a bit of a sense of humor to it all.
***Brandy and Alexander-This one showcases Jeanna Fine in what is her most endearing role. The acting is pretty good, the story is fun, and the sex is hot and varied. Another favorite for couples.
***Torch-Heather Hunter is a gorgeous erotic dancer, and this video provides a wonderful framework for her dancing and acting (which isn't bad either). Another story with a good sense of humor, this one is a spoof of the adult film industry and those who work in it. Great plot twists, and some fun sex.
***Dirty Books-How does Ashlyn Gere turn a failing bookstore into a hot moneymaker? Become a Dirty bookstore and sell adult toys, videos, the works. Unfortunately hubby Mike Horner is a stick-in-the mud and hates her new venture...until he gets a bit of 1:1 treatment from Ona Zee. This also features the hottest Tyffany Million scene around, and a sassy girl-girl with Kelly O'Donnell (one of my faves). The acting is only so-so, but the sex makes up for it.

[M]Personally, I find that the suggestion of sex is just as erotic as seeing the actual act. Not that I don't enjoy a good XXX movie now and again.
***But some of my favorites are the "Red Shoe Diary Series", "Wild Orchid", and "9 1/2 Weeks". I've also heard that "Body Chemistry" is a really good film although I haven't seen it yet myself. I have often thought it would be really great to find a film that is a full length feature film that just happens to show everything. Well, I can dream, can't I?

[F 2/5/98] I noticed you mentioned the film 9 1/2 Weeks as a good erotic movie to watch, I find that the book written by Elizabeth McNeill is much more fulfilling (just as much as your books, Joan). Another book that I think is quite pleasurable is Confessions of a Part-Time Call Girl written by Barbara Ignoto. I definitely recommend then both.

[F 2/15/98] Long time no type...life has been busy and a tad frantic!!! But I did take time out from the insanity to read a delightful imaginative book or three :) Dares by Roxanne Morgan and Bets also by Roxanne Morgan totally whimsical but well written. Also Red Sage Publications Secrets Series is a nice interlude for the woman on the run w/ every thing but time and/or a man on her hands :) Just sign me Bookish!

[2/22/98] The first two books by Roberta Latow were extremely erotic. Her love scenes left you wondering that they could not have been made up and that she was drawing on past experiences. You will have to look up the names of the books, it has been awhile since I read them.
