Updated 10/08 [M 57] Getting your shaft and balls waxed is really something worth trying. Initially, I, too, thought that it would be excruciating painful - and was probably driven more by the kink of a woman handling my junk - than the desire to be completely clean. However, I just found a local esthetician who normally only does women willing to try a guy. Very professionally, almost clinically, she rubbed some form of oil over my cock and balls - which keeps the hard wax from sticking to the skin. Then in small patches, she applied the hot wax. Using a hard wax (without the strips) - which seems to be recommended for sensitive areas - she started removing the hair in small patches. First from around my shaft, then around my balls. Yes, it does sting - but only briefly - and is much more manageable than I would have thought. I was a bit red afterward, but within a few hours all was back to normal. The feeling now is simply great - completely smooth, and baby-butt soft. And, while I didn't spring a full woody, there was a little reaction with all of the rubbing and tugging going on. . . all of which just added to the experience. So guys, give it some thought. It may be difficult to find an experienced esthetician willing to do guys, but keep looking and keep asking and you just might luck out. Your partners will also likely love the new you as well.
Updated 2/05 [F 44] I do not know what information that they are looking for, but I have found a product that works great, no irritation, my skin is in much better shape than when I shaved.
It is called Surgi-Wax Brazilian for Private Parts. It is an all-inclusive kit, but you do need tweezers to get the few that it misses. I like to be completely bare, I enjoy the sensations.
This product is a little awkward to use, it would be nice if to share this chore. I did not experience any pain, it is a little like plucking your eyebrows, not even that bad.
The results last about 3 weeks, the only drawback that I have found is that you have to wait for the hair to grow out some before you redo, I hate stubble!
Hope this helps, I don't have access to a facility near me to get this done, so at home is the only way to go. At less than $5.00 a box at Walmart you can't beat it.
[F] My husband has been waxing my pubic area (basically a
Brazilian) for about 6 months for me. We have made
some mistakes. One mistake is using soft/strip wax
instead of hard wax. Everything I have read in recent
weeks says hard wax is the way to go. We will be
trying that next time. Also, we will try powdering the
skin before waxing and see if that reduces the PAIN.
My skin usually breaks out for a couple of days. I use
tea tree oil directly on my skin twice a day. I keep
the skin exfoliated and that helps prevent ingrown
hairs, although I also check the skin frequently for
the little devils. Keep a good pair of tweezers handy.
We wax everything except a strip above my pubic bone.
I really love being hair free, it grows back much
softer and you can repeat it about every four weeks.
[?] From every thing I have read and seen this is not something which should be done at home. I believe the wax which is used for genital waxing is completely different than the wax used for other parts of the body. To wax at home is like asking for a trip to the emergency room.
[M 52] I've been practicing genital self-waxing for a while now. Over time, I've developed a technique which is very effective, at least for me. A couple of years ago while on a driving holiday with my wife of 30 years, I decided to try shaving down there, just for a lark and the thought that it might jack up our sexual excitement a bit because sex had been getting a bit ho-hum for me. My wife is not as sexually adventurous as I am and is quite happy to just do what we've always done - you know, tried 'n' true kind of stuff, unless I ask for something specific which she might or might not agree to, depending on her mood at the time - a situation that I find very frustrating and makes me very vulnerable to rejection. After a lot of eye-rolling she did agree to help me shave the parts I couldn't see and had difficulty reaching - around my anus and up the crack of my ass although I think she felt a bit embarrassed doing it. I was hoping this might spark something in her, like wanting to fondle me there more and maybe, hopefully even want to feel my new smoothness against her face and lips, without having to be asked. Well, that didn't happen, alas.
We didn't talk about it much after that first time and life went on much like before. What did happen though was my realization of how comfortable it was (not to mention incredibly sexy) to be hairless between my legs - no more grabbing and pulling of my pubic hair getting caught in the elastic of my briefs and the cool refreshing breezes around my genitals when I walked around naked. It felt wonderful. Its much more hygenic as well. I knew instantly that this was something I wanted to continue doing, with our without my wife's enthusiastic endorsement. That is until a couple of days later when the stubble started poking me around my most delicate parts, and the itching and unsightly ingrown hairs - ouch. After a couple of more attempts with the razor I knew that this was just not going to work.
I'd heard of waxing and decided to give that a try but wasn't prepared to go to the expense and embarrassment of seeking out a professional to do it so I picked up a "Cold Wax" hair removal kit at the local drug store. The directions were pretty straightforward - apply the wax sparingly to the area you want to remove the hair from with the little wooden applicator provided, working it onto the surface in the direction of the grain. Its very sticky stuff but after a little practice its quite easy to do. Then while stretching the skin tightly, press the fabric strip, several of which are included with the kit, along the "applied" area firmly and then pull the strip off quickly against the grain as if you're removing an adhesive bandage. The wax sticks to the fabric pulling all of the hair out with it. It sounds more painful than it really is but I had to experiment a bit until I finally got the hang of it. Some bruising did occur the first few times and I tried several different brands before settling on one that worked best for me.
My "boys" were the most difficult part and I had some trouble at first stretching the skin of my scrotum tight enough to be effective without causing undue discomfort to its precious contents. Also, since the hair grows in different directions on different parts of the sac it needs to be done in several steps. I finally settled on just waxing the back portion of my scrotum and beyond - the area that can easily be stretched by clasping a small area of skin directly below my hanging balls between my palm and fingers as if making a fist and then tugging the whole thing forward and upward gently but firmly (my testicles slide up and safely out of the way when I do this) before applying the strip and pulling it briskly from front to back. By doing it this way, a couple of applications is all thats necessary to remove all of the hair between my legs up to and including the area on and around my anus. And then one more application to strip the "crack" between my anus and my tailbone - basically all of the area that rubs together when I walk. For the remaining areas around my balls and the base and shaft of my penis I use a pair of high quality tweezers to remove the hair one at a time, again not as painful as it sounds but is time consuming. I try to set aside about an hour a week of private "me" time for this which is enough to keep the most delicate areas totally smooth at all times. Daylight is best for being able to see all of the new growth, no matter how fine the hair.
If you've never done this, or had it done by a professional, you can't imagine how good it feels. Too bad my wife doesn't share my enthusiasm for this. It would be a total turn-on for me to help her with it and I'm sure the feeling of our smooth genitals sliding together when we're making love would be exquisite. The few times I've mentioned the possibility, her only response has been "we'll talk about that" but we never do. Maybe when her pubic hair starts turning grey like mine did, she'll reconsider. :-)
